The simply-elegant and graceful sound of Chilean-born Yael Meyer‘s Heartbeat was released today on iTunes. The EP sounds like a female version of Death Cab for Cutie meets Jack Johnson. Its masterful production shows a command of certain melodies and themes that remeain constant throughout the duration of the EP. The cordial sound allows Yael to have a little bit of freedom that she attempts to explore with some of her lyrics (Shed Their Fear). The EP was recorded in Los Angeles. It was produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Tim Myers, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes) and it includes guest appearances by Danny Levin on trumpet, Fil Krohnengold on acoustic guitar and accordion, and Joseph Karnes on bass.
