On February 12th, 2010 a group of local young adults came together in a friend’s garage for a night of acoustic, folk music and abstract art. Hosts, Jeremy Leasure and Renjit Rajan, have been putting on Rev Poor shows for almost a year now and plan to continue putting on these shows once a month. Leasure and Rajan’s intentions were to provide a place for local bands and artists, which deserve to be recognized, to have a comfortable and safe place to express their art. Different artworks were put up on the walls of the garage along with Christmas lights. Only acoustic instruments were played to give the audience a different feel of the bands’ music. The no electric instruments policy and the dim lights gave the event a homey-café kind of feeling, creating a relaxed environment for the audience.
