“Fourth Beastie Boy” and world famous photogragher Ricky Powell will be releasing a DVD on July 27th with the footage from his cult classic public access show “Rappin With the Rickster.” He stockpiled interviews with the biggest rap stars of the day as well as hilarious rants about life in New York City during the 80′s.

This past weekend various New York natives participated in the yearly Naked bike ride event. Their site says:
We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the best way of defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians as well as the negative consequences we all face due to dependence on oil, and other forms of renewable energy.
Footage from 1986 had been compiled and edited to produce the documentary Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child about the iconic artist of the same name. Basquiat’s work was ahead of it’s time. Take a look.

Last spring Fred Lebain took images of various areas in New York City, each one of them an occasion of a ‘first visit’ to the location, in which he photographed and then printed in large poster format. Later, he returned to the same spots for a second visit, capturing a larger framed shot in which he aligned the poster documenting his first visit to the current scene, a recurrence of the past, taken in present time or present mind.
