INTERVIEW MAGAZINE: DAVID BLAINE

Monday, 17 May, 2010

Interview Magazine invites fashion designer, Adam Kimmel, to sit down with magic man, David Blaine and discuss everything that mystifies us about the modern day Harry Houdini. Many recognize him for his death defying feats and his “out of this world” demeanor, but they don’t know what really drives the man. This one on one session opens up the world into the mind of a man that many do not understand, Blaine gives insight to all his thoughts and process, which makes this interview mind boggling. It definitely produced one of the most intriguing interviews I have ever had the chance of reading.

ARTIST INTERVIEW: JUSTIN B. NELSON!

Sunday, 2 May, 2010

I had the opportunity to pick the brain of one of my favorite artists out there. His style, vision, and attention to detail puts him on a level that many artists have yet to reach. Not to mention he is a great, friendly guy. Here is our lovely conversation with Tampa, Florida resident Justin B. Nelson:

LOUDreams: First things first, tell us something unique about yourself?
Justin B Nelson: I like syrup on my bacon.

LD: That’s yummy. As a child growing up in Oregon, how did your love for art start?
JBN: Well, my life began in Oregon but I actually grew up all over the country. My father was in the military when I was growing up so we were moving around every 3 years or so. As far back as I can remember I’ve always been happy with a piece of paper and a pencil in front of me. As I got older I really got into comics and started creating my own super heros and comic books. During high school I kind of fell out of it and didn’t really make art again until I came across a stack of street art books while working at a bookstore. I wasted a good hour in the stockroom staring at the pages in the books while no one was looking. I soon discovered there was this whole world of underground artists and street artists that I never knew existed doing things I’d never seen before. It was really inspiring and eye-opening and it pushed me to start making art again. I experimented with street art for about a year and eventually found my way back to drawing and I haven’t stopped since.

RACHAEL MCCALL
PHOTOGRAPHY/INTERVIEW

Tuesday, 2 March, 2010

I had the great opportunity to sit down and talk to the lovely Rachael McCall about her photography and the launch of her new personal portfolio website. I’ve been keeping tabs of her work for the past couple of years, and every time she takes a snap, it seems to get better and better.

LOUDreams: Tell our LOUDreamers a little about yourself!

Rachael McCall: Alright well lets see first off Hello, I’m Rachael. I come from a family of 5 girls,  I am blonde, I am passionate, and very easy going.

LD: What was it like growing up in little Murrieta, Ca?

RM: Ok so even though Murrieta isn’t the most beautiful place, I still loved growing up there, probably because of its location. All the choices of entertainment from downtown San Diego, all the way up the coast to LA, (all being about an hour away) was nice. Murrieta was a nice little town to grow up, and obviously made some lifelong friends from there.
