DRAKE – OVER

Thursday, 4 March, 2010

Here is the first single from Drake’s anticipated Thank Me Later album dropping later in the year. Boi-1da produced it and, he created a Frankenstein. Not only is it alive, it’s a monster. Drake has one thing in the bag that a lot of artists are scared to do: listen to an artist, learn, re-create into his own style. A bit of Cudder influence and Big Sean influence in here. I am still skeptical about your music Mr. Graham, please make me a believer. In the words of Hova, “Boi-1da you are a foool for this one. ”

BIG SEAN FEATURING MR. HUDSON – WAY OUT

Monday, 1 March, 2010

Let us go ahead and say what you are thinking… Big Sean has brought back the Late Registration/Roses Kanye-flow. Let us also say that he was the originator of the Drake Forever flow and the YME Bedrock flow.  Big Sean and Mr. Hudson have made a beautiful track that should be titled No Way Out, because there is never a way out of heartbreak. The flow is transmitted over gloomy circumstances and is met with beautifully luminous sounds of the choir.

STRANGE BIRDS MUSIC

Thursday, 25 February, 2010

Inspired by the multifarious wonders of the California coast, we sought to create music as true and familiar as the places we have passed though and the experiences we have shared over the past year. A partnership that originally consisted of closet recordings has turned into a more tangible, yet no less intimate form. We cannot wait to begin what we hope to be a long and lasting journey with you all, to share our music with you, and to show ourselves to you as we truly are. Strange Birds.

KANYE WEST – COLDEST WINTER

Wednesday, 24 February, 2010
http://www.vimeo.com/9411122

No signs of the Kanye West on this new music video for the Coldest Winter of “808s & Heartbreak”. The video was directed by the highly acclaimed Nabil Elderkin and it’s a visually satisfying feature that displays the emotion Kanye exudes on the track.

“It’s pretty minimalistic. It’s slow and very visual. I just wanted to catch the vibe of the song and not get too literal. Because the lyrics are very close to Kanye and go much deeper than the video goes, obviously hearing the song you know it’s very emotional.” -Elderkin
