Another monstrous single (co-written by Drake) by the brilliant and beautiful Alicia Keys. You know what else? Drake decides to step in and remix the track to blow your mind, cheers to that! Enjoy:

Mp3: Alicia Keys Ft. Drake – Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)

A lovely set of tracks for you quiet Sunday afternoon. I can’t help but enjoy the jazzy, motown sounds that come out the funkiness called Quadron, enjoy:

Mp3: Quadron – Pressure
Mp3: Quadron – Slippin

This is a little old, but many have not heard. Such a genius collaboration that went unheard between the brilliance that is Andre 3000 and soothing sounds that make up the talented Norah Jones. Take off your cool, I want to see you. Enjoy:

Mp3: Andre 3000 & Norah Jones – Take Off Your Cool

We’d like to introduce you to the man who is touching all basis in the dance spectrum. You may not have heard about him, but he goes by the name Barletta, and he is a remix machine. From house, electronica, dubstep, etc, he will surely make you dance. Be on the lookout!

Mp3: Swedish House Mafia – One (Barletta Edit)
Mp3: The Cardigans – Lovefool (Barletta Edit)
Mp3: Reflekt – Need To Feel Loved (Barletta Remix)
Mp3: Barletta – Plugged Not Thugged (Exclusive Minimix)

The Black Keys are flirting with an out-and-out pop ditty with “Tighten Up,” the whistling-’n'-reverb first single off the duo’s new Brothers. Yet another collaboration with Danger Mouse (who polished up the Akron, Ohio boys’ rubber-city scuzz on 2008′s Attack & Release), it’s held as further evidence that the band is straying from its gutbucket roots, we like that though. They also have teamed up with Dame Dash and many New York emcees (Raekwon, Mos Def and Q-Tip to name a few…) to create the Blakroc Movement.Enjoy:

Mp3: The Black Keys – Tighten Up
Mp3: The Black Keys – Next Girl

Extra Mp3: Blakroc – Stay Off the Fuckin’ Flowers (ft. Raekwon)

I don’t know much about this dude [David Dallas] but he’s got a decent sound to him, probably due to the production of this track. His work just crossed my plate, and it is mixed with a RATATAT joint, sounds delicious. Oh, and he’s from New Zealand, that’s a first.

Mp3: David Dallas – ‘Til Tomorrow

I liked Class Actress‘ other recent single, Careful What You Say, but this, their new EP’s title track, is better: instead of the former’s obviously glitzy big electro beats, it has subtler bleeps, darker tone, little snatches of current flashing invisbly across a forest of pylons.

Mp3: Class Actress – Journal of Ardency

Janelle Monae’s forthcoming album, The ArchAndroid, came out two days ago. The album from head to toe has blown our minds. Her style is a male version of Mayer Hawthorne, her live shows are out of this world, and her music is a blend of a little motown with Lauryn Hill with Andre 3000. Take a listen to a couple of our favorite tracks:

Mp3: Janelle Monae – Tightrope (Feat. Big Boi)

Mp3: Janelle Monae – Neon Valley Street

Mysterious girl/boy duo Cults have been blogged to death all over the Internet; but they are so good I thought one more couldn’t hurt. If you haven’t heard their sun kissed 60′s pop-inspired music then you have come to the right place. Enjoy:

Mp3: Cults – Go Outside

Finally, here it is, the sequel to A-Trak‘s beloved “Dirty South Dance” from 2007, “Dirty South Dance 2″: 15 tracks stuffed with the best of crunk, electro, house and Fool’s Gold:

Star Trak affiliates Christian Rich will be releasing their Mick Boogie & Clinton Sparks hosted mixtape The Decadence on May 31st. The tape has features from Pharrell Williams, Pusha T, Peter, Bjorn and John, DJ Benzi, and more. Here is the latest jam from The Decadence featuring Y-O of UNI entitled Lady of The Night.

Mp3: Christian Rich & U-N-I – Lady Of The Night
VID: Christian Rich – Hello Virgin

Nada Surf newest release, If I Had A Hi-Fi, is a simple, 12-track album, clocking in at just over 40 minutes, that consists entirely of the band’s interpretations of some of their favorite songs by other artists. We are featuring The Go-Betweens’ “Love Goes On,” which will have you singing along before you can get through the first listen, even without the lyrics at hand.

Mp3: Nada Surf – Love Goes On

Coming out of G.O.O.D. music which includes the likes of Kanye West, KiD CuDi, Mr. Hudson & much more including Big Sean, their new prodigy, which you definitely heard of. He performed at the LOUDreams Fresh Fashion Show a couple months ago. Here are a couple new track from Big Sean, one which features Drake:

Mp3: Big Sean – What U Doin’

Mp3: Big Sean – Made (feat. Drake)

The Young Veins are very reminiscent to the rock bands that influenced the 1960′s. Okay not The Beatles or anything, but they are still a nice find:

Mp3: The Young Veins – Take A Vacation!

Swedish group Little Dragon makes swoon-worthy electropop. The band’s members have collaborated variously with the likes of José González, Gorrilaz, and Koop; on their 2009 release, Machine Dreams, they inhabit a space that shares the dreamlike quality of Fever Ray and the candylike quality of IQU:

Mp3: Little Dragon – Feather

Powered by a funky basline & synth keyboards, Holy Ghost makes you rise out of your seat and dance:

Mp3: Holy Ghost! – Static On The Wire

Another band that is pretty hippy in their sounds and appearance, check out Tame Impala.

Mp3: Tame Impala – Solitude Of Bliss

The sounds of the duo Inu is very similar to what Thom Yorke did on Eraser, an electronica blend alongside solid drum work and a progressive build up to create a splendid jam of a song:

Mp3: Inu – Far From Safe

Can not help but love the sitar like sounds in Julian Lynch‘s single. Makes you want to dose off in a psychedelic dream.

Mp3: Julian Lynch – Just Enough

With such a unique sound, it is hard to place a genre on Solillaquists of Sound. Experimenting with all different types of instruments and sounds, anyone who likes rap, electronic, reggae, or soul would surely appreciate this track.

Mp3: Solillaquists of Sound – Marvel

Out of New York, with instruments they have created themselves, Buke & Gass (pronounced Gase!) are our, truest to form, soundmakers. Let us break it down: they create as much noise as possible with their instruments. They are Sherlock Holmes, organized chaos with a touch of brilliance. These are some of the key instruments they play, in conjunction with one another, in their records: bass, guitar, ukulele, kick drum, snare, tambourine and sleigh bells (guitar+bass = Gass and baritone+ukulele = Buke).  They literally, through a system of amplification and pedals here and there, play all of these instruments together. Guess you have to see them live! In the meanwhile, here is one of their tracks!

Mp3: Buke And Gass – Medulla Oblongata

The following track is dedicated to the catastrophe that lashed Haiti. A few years ago, Oveous Maximus introduced himself to the world as a spoken-word artist with a list for words and the relationships it built with one another. The man has conquered the Apollo and been saluted by The Ecstatic, Mos Def as a wordsmith. Cheers.
