NEW MUSIC THURSDAYS 4/15/2010

Posted by

We know it has been a while since New Music Thursdays has made an appearance on LOUDreams. We know that you are upset, and frustrated. How could we possibly keep this away from you… for sooo long!? Be sad/mad/hysterical/frustrated no more, we have tons of new music to share with you. Everything you were able to fathom, and a bit more, to nurture those lovely ears of yours. Following the break is some brand new music that should fill up your iPod, until the next time we bring you a new batch of #iPodGuzzlers. Enjoy, indulge, & download away:

Erykah Badu is finally back on the scene, we damn sure missed her. Here is the single, “Window Seat”, from her highly anticipated album New Amerykah Part Two (Return Of The Ankh):

Bringing Motown into the present, Mayer Hawthorne has been killing the music scene as of late. If you haven’t heard of the man, I don’t know what to say to you other than DO SOME RESEARCH! You might find out that he was actually a DJ… DJ Haircut. The man is a music genius, I love this featured song, perfect for those lounging days with the friends, over some drinks.

Straight out of Silverlake, Ca is the band called Local Natives. Their first album, Gorilla Manor, was released earlier this year and it was phenomenal; we loved it from head to toe. Superb melodies to go alongside refreshing vocals, here is my favorite track from the album:

The newest installment from Wiz Khalifa and his crew, “The Taylor Gang.”  Judging from his past bodies of work, this should shape up to be another mixtape classic. It’s called Kush x Orange Juice, and since we are in the mood of giving, we will give you the link towards the entire download instead of one track.

MGMT just came out with their 2nd album entitled Congratulations… aren’t you giddy? Can it live up to the success of Oracular Spectacular? A very retro vibe alongside some relaxing beach sounds, take a listen:

Just yesterday, MTV Video Music Award Winners, U-N-I lent our eyes a beautiful music video and today we share with you Desha Dayana, again. With the release of their Spring 2010 street project A Love Supreme 2.0, U-N-I is poised to move away from the rock and the hard place that so many artists find themselves trapped within.

Mp3: Will be in later today.

Because on Thursday it’s necessary for a sprawling 7 minute indie opus from an unknown band from Buffalo, New York. Get lost in those swirling synths, twangy guitars, and soothing vocals. Take a listen to The Tins:

Mp3: The Tins – The Green Room

Throwing hip-hop backbeats to his music, Citizen Cope aka Clarence Greenwood leaves a great impression on your earbuds, check out our favorite track off his February released album The Rainwater LP:

Mp3: Citizen Cope – Healing Hands

Check out Quest The Artist’s innovative twist to The XX’s Intro. It is the first installment titled, The Supernova Intro for his -DigiSexXSpaceLove- project. This young man out of Los Angeles a clever artist with a few tricks up his sleeve (Ahemmm… Lorenzo August).

To add a little bit more dance to this list, here is The Twelves remix to Two Door Cinema Club‘s recent hit, both artists/groups have had massive years:

Hailing from the hard knock streets of Detroit, Michigan comes singer-songwriter, Holly Miranda. Even though we posted up one of her songs earlier this year, we thought one more couldn’t hurt. Here’s “Forest Green, Oh Forest Green” off her most recent album entitled The Magician’s Private Library. Enjoy!

Mp3: Holly Miranda – Forest Green, Oh Forest Green

Here’s a track from the Morning Benders entitled, “Cold War”. Their most recent album, Big Echo has been getting some buzz in the music world and has been receiving exceptional reviews. The hype was real and I personally think this is an album everyone should pick up.

Coming out of Philly, Chiddy Bang comes in hard with his innovative beats and catchy rhymes. The album as a whole is a little snippet of their story, and how they made it to the big time…

Mp3: Chiddy Bang – Now U Know (feat Jordan Brown)

Give a listen to “Daisy”, which is the lead single off Fang Islands first full self-entitled album. Their sound is pretty energetic with a feel good rock vibe. Definitely came in perfect time for the summer season!

Mp3: Fang Island – Daisy

Das Racist is not for everyone, but they’re here to remind you not to take things too seriously.  You’re bound to laugh at least a couple of times while listening to their new mixtape Shut Up, Dude, which was released online for free a couple of weeks ago.

Mp3: Das Racist – You Oughta Know

Another banger from the powerhouse team that is edIT, Ooah, and Boreta also known as The Glitch Mob. This is the first single that has been released from their upcoming album Drink The Sea. Be sure to catch them performing live at Coachella as well as other festivals around the country.

Mp3: The Glitch Mob – Drive It Like You Stole It

Hope you enjoyed this weeks addition of New Music Thursdays, tell all your friends and lovers, more coming next week!
