IKE BAHADOURIAN PHOTOGRAPHY

A lovely email came by me the other day from Ike Bahadourian, a Los Angeles student/resident. What came with the email was a set of lovely artistic photographs that capture the memories of everyday life and a nice conversation about his reason for taking photos. Check it out after the jump:
I was born, studied and still live in Los Angeles. I studied architecture and that is what I work in now, specifically residential architecture, but all the work I do on the side is either in furniture or photography. Its difficult to commit to one aspect of creation once you’re a designer. I do graphics too.
Theres a control over memory that comes with photography that I
admire. I take photos not for the aesthetic appeal as much as I do to remember things or capture ideas that are with me the day I’m walking around with my camera.
The fact that I’ve studied design and can compose things is just a plus.
I actually suspect that shooting street photography like I do is a benefit of having studied architecture, since street photography and candids are about anticipating the composition three-dimensionally.I shoot film exclusively because I think the scrutiny i put myself under when I have four or two shots left has me always waiting for something better, and makes me love the shot some more. Looking down to see I have one left is gratifying, as it usually leads to one of the best shots from my roll.
Where as shooting with digital I would feel like a whore, taking seven shots of something beautiful to later sit at the computer, going back and forth wondering who to love.

Не всем удается получить результат, надо еще что бы руки росли из нужного места…
